Community Outdoor Market Guidelines
The Saugeen First Nation#29 community outdoor market program is available to any small and home-based business in the community with the aim to support and provide opportunities for those businesses to grow and expand their sales opportunities. The market will be open from late June to late August and these guidelines are in place to help vendors understand what is required for the market sign up and the types of market vendors we are looking for.
Restrictions: The community outdoor market program is not intended for any businesses that currently operate their own retail buildings as this space was created with all home-based businesses in mind. Furthermore, items such as tobacco, cannabis, or cannabis-based products are prohibited from the market.
Communications: The community outdoor market is weather dependent. If you have filled out a sign up form, you will be notified of any changes by the IBA Coordinator as soon as possible. Also, please check out our website and social media channels for updates.
Booth Fees: The booth sizes are 10’ x 10’ and consists of a canopy tent, canopy weights, a table, and two chairs. The rental fee for the 2024 summer season is set at:
$25.00 per booth for SFN29 Band Members
$75.00 per booth for non band members
Types of Vendors:
Artisan Vendors: These vendors have been identified as beaders, crafters, quill workers, painters, sculptors, etc.
Retail Vendors: These vendors have been identified as apparel makers, home & outdoor furniture makers, glassware, natural soaps/candles, etc.
Professional Services: These vendors have been identified as photographers, hairstylists, audio/video production, massage therapy, beauty/personal care, lawn care, etc.
Food Vendors: These vendors have been identified as local caterers, barbeque enthusiasts, baked good connoisseurs, etc. Note: a safe food handling certificate or food safety plan will be required with your application for this category
Musical Acts: Musical acts will be limited to one per week and they will be responsible for their own equipment and electrical needs. If you are interested in signing up, please contact the IBA Coordinator for available dates. Note: There is no charge for SFN29 Band Member musical acts.
General Rules:
There are up to 30 booths available each week, however we will only set up booths based on the amount of sign up’s we have for that week.
The market opens at _____ each week. Vendors should be onsite for set up at least an hour before the market opens.
Vendors must park their vehicles in the designated parking areas.
All market booths are confirmed and approved by the IBA Coordinator. The IBA Coordinator will contact you to confirm via the information provided in your application form.
Vendors must bring their own marketing materials and be clearly visible. Please don’t forget to include your business name, products, pricing, and contact information.
Vendors will ensure that any audio or video stereos will be played at a reasonable level that is not disruptive to the other market participants or musical acts.
Vendors are responsible for the removal of any marketing materials, products, garbage or recycling materials from their booth at the end of the session.
If you cannot attend the market session you have signed up for, but would like to attend a future session, please contact the IBA Coordinator.
For any disruptive or abusive behavior, the IBA Coordinator reserves the right to ask a vendor to leave. If escalation occurs, the IBA Coordinator will contact the Community Safety unit for assistance.

Completing and submitting an outdoor market application form to the IBA Coordinator. Note: submitting an application does not guarantee a spot at the market, as it is set up as a first come first served basis.
Applicants will be confirmed and notified by the IBA Coordinator each week. Note: If the market is full, you can be added to the next weeks session
Use of funds: All proceeds from the outdoor market booth fees will go towards the SFNIBA program, in order to further assist all our SFNIBA members.
