SFN29 Business Planning Guide

The spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and well on our First Nation, and many community members are wanting to pursue their dream of running their own small business. Knowing that small business creation doesn’t happen overnight, we recognize the need to assist our members throughout the process, from generating an idea to the day of your grand opening and beyond.

With this in mind, this document was written with a series of questions on a number of topic areas for you to review. After each section, there is an available space for your to write down your thoughts or ideas for that particular topic before you move on to the next section. At the end of the guide, a basic business plan outline is provided, however your business plan may require more or less information, based on your business idea. The outline provided should only be viewed as a starting place and your business plan should be produced in a way that best suits your needs.

We hope you find this document informative, a good first step towards your entrepreneurial goals and helps answer any initial questions you might have about a new business start up. Furthermore, we will be hosting a number of workshops on a variety of topic areas, so please be sure to keep an eye on our website and social media pages for any workshop announcements or community events to showcase your work.
